February is the heart of winter here in Summit County. The snow is starting to really pile up and with more on the way, spending your days out on the mountain probably tops the to-do list for your Summit County vacation. When you need a break, or if you have some non-skiers in your group, know that there are plenty of off mountain activities to keep the whole family entertained:
Ice Castles – Dillon
Back this year are the Ice Castles in downtown Dillon. They are open during the day but try to check them out at night for the most magical viewing experience. Get your tickets and information about the hours of operation here: http://icecastles.com/dillon/
PBR Pond Hockey Tournament Après Ice Party – Silverthorne 2/17, 8pm – Midnight
For those looking for a lively late-night experience, enjoy a rocking performance by the popular Sublime cover band, 40 Ounces to Freedom, at the Silverthorne Pavilion. Buy your tickets for $5 at the door and don’t forget to Uber home!
Colorado Special Olympics – Copper Mountain 2/24 – 2/25
Stop by Center Village in Copper to cheer on Colorado Athletes as they compete in the 2018 Winter Games. Grab a bite to eat at one of the amazing restaurants right at the base area and take a few runs yourself! There is even a great magic carpet right at the base to help the beginners in your group find their skiing legs.
Winter Wine Tasting – Keystone 2/17
For the 21+ crowd, enjoy a night out in Keystone at the Winter Wine Tasting. Gourmet food, wine pairings, live music…this is an event you don’t want to miss! Buy tickets ahead of time: https://warrenstation.com/event/winterwine/
